Ski World Cup Finals in Meribel

This season Meribel is hosting the finals of the Ski World Cup and the resort is buzzing with excitement already. This will be the biggest ski event in Meribel since the 1992 Winter Olympics and the first time the finals of the World Cup have been held in France.

The competition which will be held between the 18th and 22nd March 2015 will attract huge TV audiences (up to 85 million viewers) and up to 70,000 spectators in resort.

The timetable for the competition will be as follows:

Wednesday 18th March – Men’s & Women’s Downhill
Thursday 19th March – Men’s & Women’s Super-G
Friday 20th March – Team Event
Saturday 21st March – Women’s Slalom & Men’s Giant Slalom
Sunday 22nd March – Men’s Slalom & Women’s Giant Slalom

The competition will attract the world’s top 25 skiers in each discipline and the skiers will compete for the ultimate prize on the Roc de Fer piste coming down into the Chaudanne, where there will be spectator stands.

It should be an exciting week and will really highlight the beauty and ski potential of the resort.
