Avery Crest Terms & Conditions of Contract

The following terms and conditions are laid out between Avery Crest and their guests to ensure that there are no misunderstandings with the process of booking a holiday or during their stay in Chalet du Vallon or Chalet Trois Ours. We strongly recommend that you read through them before making a booking. All business between Avery Crest and its guests is subject to the following terms and conditions.

Bookings and Payment

To accept a booking we must receive a completed booking form with all the information requested. The booking form must be accompanied with a deposit of 30% of the total cost of the chalet rental. The party leader must be aged 18 or over and be authorised by the other guests in the party to book the holiday on their behalf. The party leader signing on behalf of the other guests guarantees payment of the full cost of the holiday for guests named on the booking form and others which may be added later. The booking is for the entire chalet only (part bookings may only be taken at the discretion of Avery Crest). Any empty beds will be charged at full price. Should any part of the group cancel the whole chalet booking still stands. Should the remaining guests not wish to pay the full chalet price the booking will be considered cancelled and cancellation charges as set out below will apply for the whole chalet. Avery Crest reserves the right to re-sell the holiday without further notification. The booking is confirmed when guests receive written confirmation from Avery Crest, please check that your details are correct upon receipt. Telephone bookings will be held for 5 working days so that the booking form and deposit can be returned. Payment for accommodation is accepted by direct bank transfer or by credit card only. Please note that credit card payments are subject to a 1% additional charge to cover the administration charges.


Our prices are quoted in Euros. Included in the price is accommodation for seven nights, breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner (with complimentary wine with dinner and champagne) for 6 days a week. Chalet staff receive one day off per week and can help arrange a restaurant for your evening meal on that day. A complimentary bar of tea, coffee, soft drinks and beer is offered throughout the week. Prices do not include flight or other travel, ski passes, ski hire, ski lessons, ski equipment, transport, insurance, or any meals taken out of the chalet. Avery Crest reserves the right to change prices quoted up until a booking deposit is received in accordance with the booking procedure.

Check-in, Check-out

Check-in time on arrival is 16.00hrs and check-out time is 11.00hrs on your date of departure.  


The chalets are not child-proof and we are not responsible for any accidents that may occur in the chalet. The Party Leader is responsible for ensuring that children are supervised at all times. Without relieving the Party Leader in any way whatever, we can organise independent childcare prior to your arrival and recommend that you do so well in advance for busy periods such as school holidays. There is a reduction of €100 per week for any child aged four- twelve.

Payment of Balance

Must be received 8 weeks prior to arrival date. If booking within 8 weeks before the departure date the balance must be paid in full when booking. Avery Crest retains the right to cancel your holiday if the balance is not paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival. No contract for the provision of services is confirmed until the final payment is made.

Cancellation or Changes by Guests

You or members of your party are entitled to cancel your holiday at any time providing that the party organiser does so in writing. Your deposit will be retained for administration charges and we will apply cancellation charges as follows:

More than:

70 days/10 weeks before holiday start date = loss of deposit (30%)

69 – 55 days / 8-10 weeks = 40% of total

56- 42 days / 6-8 weeks = 50% of total

42 – 28 days / 4-6 weeks = 75% of total

28 days / 4 weeks before arrival = 100% of total

Should any part of the booking be changed or altered after confirmation Avery Crest may charge a €30 administration fee.

Cancellation by Avery Crest

Should for any reason Avery Crest be forced to cancel your booking a full refund of any monies received at that date will be made.  Avery Crest retains the right to return deposit monies at anytime at which point no contractual relationship exists between Avery Crest and their guests.

Limitation of Liability

Avery Crest hereby limits its total liability and the total liability of its directors, employees, agency workers, sub-contractors and suppliers, in law or otherwise for losses to property or arising out of injury or death of any persons, to the total monetary value paid to Avery Crest by or on behalf of any claimant. Avery Crest, its directors, employees, agency workers, sub-contractors and suppliers are not liable for consequential damages of any kind.

Guests’ personal belongings, including ski equipment, remains in their charge for the entire duration of their stay and should be covered by their insurance. Avery Crest does not accept any responsibility for damaged, lost or stolen property.

Responsibility and Behaviour

When booking your holiday with Avery Crest you accept responsibility for any damage to the chalet and its contents, which may be caused by you or any members of your party. Full payment for damage must be settled before you leave the resort. Avery Crest reserves the right to take a credit card deposit at the start of the holiday. Guests are expected to behave in a manner that does not upset other guests, staff or disrepute the reputation of Avery Crest. We retain the right to terminate the holiday without prior notice should unreasonable behaviour occur. We then relinquish any responsibility for guests including no refund or expenses incurred as a result of the termination.

Steam Room / Jacuzzi / Hot Tub /Gym

Guests use the above mentioned facilities at their own risk and are requested to refrain from the consumption of alcohol and from the use of glass items in these areas of the chalet(s).

Spa Treatments

These services will be charged for separately in resort and these treatments are non-medical in nature. Please ask in resort for full details.

Travel Insurance

The importance of the correct type of holiday insurance cannot be stressed enough. Please ensure that you have read your travel insurance policy thoroughly and fully understand its terms and conditions. You may have an annual or work policy but do not automatically assume that it covers winter sports. You must have an adequate insurance policy to book with Avery Crest.


Avery Crest does not accept responsibility for guests missing aircraft, ferries, trains or transfers. Guests are responsible for ensuring that they have all the valid travel documents needed for their journey.

Complaints Procedure

In the unlikely event you have cause to complain or experience any other problems during your holiday, please inform our Resort Manager. Until you inform us of a problem we cannot begin to resolve it. Most problems can be dealt with quickly and on site. If however there is still cause for complaint please state in writing no later than 28 days after your departure your issues and we endeavour to sort out any outstanding problems.

Third Party Activities

Avery Crest can help arrange many activities and extra services for your stay all of these services are subject to the terms and conditions of the individual companies; Avery Crest does not take any responsibility or liability for these services. Any problem with these services should be taken up directly with the provider.


Avery Crest does not accept any responsibility for the accuracy of information contained on their website. We aim to maintain as much accurate information as possible but we cannot guarantee details (especially information supplied by third parties) are correct or complete.

Outdoor Shoes

Due to the conditions of ski resorts we ask that guests remove their outdoor shoes and ski boots before entering the chalet to ensure that the stairs and hallways are clean and clear for everyone to use. We do provide slippers for your stay. We have heated boot racks to store and warm ski boots and ample storage for all out door shoes. We also recommend that you bring suitable footwear for walking around in resort.


The chalets are no-smoking zones.


These Terms and Conditions and any contract to which they apply are governed in all respects by English Law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
