The resort is in the final stages of preparation for the summer opening on 28th June and Meribel has a full programme of events planned for visitors to the valley. The mountains are now green and strewn with wild flowers and flocks of sheep & goats have returned to their summer pastures. There is plenty to keep summer visitors happy with swimming, golf, tennis, walking, mountain biking and paragliding all available.
This summer’s events kick off on 6th July with the 3 Valleys Mountain Bike Tour followed by the more gentle and relaxing Well-Being Week starting on 14th July – Bastille Day, the French National Day and always a great excuse for a party!
On the 27th July it is the Meribel Air Show which this year is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Meribel Aeroclub and this kicks off a week of celebrating all thing aerial with the Air & Wind week.
La Fete Fanfoue on 2nd & 3rd of August begins a week of celebrating local culture & heritage with a firework display, Savoyard food and a open air dance in the centre of Les Allues. This is followed by the International Magic Show that takes place between 11th to 15th August with a number of famous magicians and illusionists performing. However the highlight for this summer is the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Finals which starts on 21st August – the resort is expecting up to 40,000 spectators for the 4 day bike-fest.
There is also the L’Occitane Meribel Golf Show taking place between 22nd to 27th August – all in all a busy & exciting summer of events with something for everyone.
